To further help your physical condition, ten minutes of a cardio activity (jogging, running, biking, swimming or brisk walking), should be done to complement your exercise routine. Three times a week is adequate enough to keep your body toned and fit.
Arm and Leg Lifts
With this exercise, you will gain more muscle on your back, butt, and shoulders. First, lie down on the floor with both your arms and legs spread out. Now, your left arm and right leg should raise from the floor at the same time. Do the same thing with your right arm and left leg. Determined on how you feel, do about sixteen reps.
The Press
This exercise will strengthen your triceps, front shoulders, and your chest. Note: dumbbells are needed for this. Lie on your back with your knees bent and your feet flat on the floor and hold your dumbbells extended above your chest and palms forward. The back of the shoulders should remain on the floor for best results. When coming down with the dumbbells, your elbows need to line up with the shoulders. The arms should then be brought back to position one. Determined on how you feel, do about sixteen reps.
To do Crunches
This exercise focuses on strengthening the abs. Lie on your back. Your knees should be bent and should also be in line with your hips, and your calves should be parallel to the ground. Both your hands are then situated under the back of your head without clasping the fingers. Lift your hips from the floor using your abdomen, and then bring your knees towards the chest. Pull up your head and shoulders from off the ground, and in the same fluid motion, your hips and knees should be coming forward.
Some gyms carry machines that accomplish the same exercises. Doing them at home fulfills the same purpose, as long as you go by the guidelines. Through consistent exercise, your body will become stronger and more flexible, increasing the amount of reps you do. By doing these exercises regularly, along with your simple cardio, you can be sure that you will keep your body fit and toned.
