All of us need to eat healthy to stay healthy. Your health will change with the way you eat and how you live life. And everybody should be eating a balanced diet. You need carbohydrates, protein, fats, vitamins and minerals to have a balanced diet. It must contain all these things in correct proportions.
By following the guidelines to healthy eating below, you will have a healthier life.
1) Have your meal daily: You need to plan your meals in advance. You need to make sure that you are getting enough nutrients from the different foods you eat. Avoid skipping meals as much as possible as this affects the growth of your body. You should have three meals and two snacks each day. It helps if you eat them at the same time each day.
2) Have A Variety Of Foods: A balanced diet will include a variety of different foods. Eating different types of food provides your body with all the nutrients required to stay healthy.
3) Don’t ban Foods: Do not ban anything from your diet unless you are allergic or intolerant to it. This will only make you want it more. If you fancy something sweet when you are out and about with friends, get the sweet muffin with your coffee that you have been craving. As long as the muffin is not an everyday treat then you needn’t worry about the effects. You can have small proportions of cakes, muffins, cookies, honey or any other dessert at the end of a healthy meal.
4) Don’t Have Too Much Sugar: Keeping your energy levels even is important so try to cut down on the amount of sweet foods you eat. Opt instead for a high protein snack or some fruit. Although remember, the odd muffin will do no harm.
5) Drink Lots Of Water: When it comes to your health, water is important. You should drink a steady supply of water throughout the day, every day. Try to limit the amount of fruit juice and fizzy pop that you consume.
6) Cut Down Your Fat Intake: Avoid eating high fat food such as butter, margarine, potato chips, fried food and junk food. The amount of fat in them makes these foods bad for your heart and blood pressure. But you can get good fats which can help your cholesterol like fats in nuts and fish.
